I breathe photography. Even when I don't have a camera in my hand, it's always on my mind and I am always seeing potential photographs. I had been interested in photography since I was a little girl, but didn't pick it up until the spring of 2007. I consider myself a progressive hobbyist and my technique tends to be what I'd describe as mechanical.
I graduated college with a B.A. English - Writing and a B.A. in Political Science - International Relations. I took one photography class during that time that helped get me started with a good foundation. After learning the basics, I am pretty much self-taught. Aside from photography, I am interested in dog training with a focus in herding and some dabbling in agility. Competing in trials with the dog provides me an opportunity to travel and see a lot of new places.

After operating the past 1-2 years with two broken lenses and one working lens, I decided it was time to upgrade my equipment and finally purchased a newer camera and several lenses to give me a nice, rounded package to work with. Now I don't have any excuse for not experimenting or working with certain mediums. I figured since I went through all the trouble to upgrade, I might as well finally throw together a website to showcase my work. This involved scrapbooking many older photos and re-editing any I decided to keep--I was fortunate to find a few neglected gems along the way! Hopefully, I can quickly get everything uploaded back up on DA a
So, I've recently had a big reckoning involving my photography. I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and into something new that happened to involve waterfalls. I know, I know. Waterfall shots are almost as generic as kittens, but I just wanted to try something new and expand my knowledge and skill sets. I wanted to focus on the shape of the surrounding area of the falls. I just fall in love with the way the water had carved through and shaped the rock. The colors were nearly as stunning. However, I did find waterfall photography quite boring at times. I am not sure how much of a fan I am of standing around and waiting for shutter to rele
